28 April, 2010 (21:18) | Events

Saturday, Dec 5, 2009 Child and Family Services of Michigan will be receiving Christmas presents for needy individuals from aircraft converging on Barstow Airport. Operation Good Cheer has been organizing volunteers since 1971 to purchase, collect and distribute gifts for kids in foster care. A group of SE Michigan pilots use their own aircraft to fly to Pontiac and pickup the gifts collected by donor groups and individuals and brought to the centrally located Pontiac airport. The aircraft then scatter to various MI airports where they are met by volunteers from local Child and Family Services offices. Weather permitting, Barstow Airport will see a variety of aircraft arriving Saturday morning bringing Christmas cheer to foster care kids in Midland county.
